post production

The work concerning post-production is going to concentrate on the development of algorithms fot the creation of depth-maps and the use of these depth-maps for post-production.

In both cases near-realtime solution are to be preferred. In particular it has to be examined how these algorithms can be integrated in existing post-production platforms.

Concerning the creation of depth-maps it has also to be seen how at least parts of these algorithms can already be outsourced onto an online-processing of the multi-camera-systems of this project during the image-acquisition.

Furthermore the usability of the depth-information has to be analysed for 3D-TV-Applications as well as for special effects in 3D-cinema. This is to be done by evaluating test productions.

Simultaneously, requirements and data-formats are to be specified and workflows examined.

In addition to that, there will be a study on how arising depth- and metadata can be used for an in-parallel 3D-game-production.
