presentation
The work in the Presentation section takes a closer look at both the stereoscopic reproduction of 3D-cinema and 3D-TV on autostereoscopic displays.
For the 3D-cinema domain the main emphasis is put on the development of stereoscopic multi- and panoramic projections. This is based on multiprojection- and calibration techniques as well as on projectors, that were built by the Fraunhofer HHI and Kinoton for the CineVision2006 project.
In doing so the stereoscopic multi- and panoramic projection represents a special challenge. It is also to be analysed how these classical stereo-projection techniques can be used for the 3D-cinema.
For 3D-TV-playback on autostereoscopic displays, an interfield-interpolation is required that uses the depth-information to convert the transmitted 3D-TV-signal into the needed amount of views. Such a process is intended to be invented by the HHI and tested with our project parner Loewe. For that purpose, interfaces for the applied display-types are to be developed.
At the same time requirements and data-formats are to be specified and workflows to be examined.
