quality-evaluation and acceptance-testing
In the fields of quality-evaluation and acceptance-testing, firstly evaluation criteria are to be defined that serve to judge the quality and users' approval of the stereoscopic/multidimensional content.
Then these evaluation criteria will be transferred to empirical examinations in quantitative and qualitative respects. In the first place acceptance and appraisal of 3D-applications within the population are to be analysed. The target is to also identify user-groups that have a particular affinity towards stereoscopic/multidimensional contents as groups, that ignore these new forms of representation. The classification following socio-demographic features is going to play an important role here.
In a second step of the evaluation, suitable visual material that has been produced before will be used for the carrying out of the quality-evaluation and acceptance-testing. This may be footage that has already been produced by the HFF or footage that has been especially shot for these tests.
In this section of the examination, qualitative research methods are to be planned and put into practice. Examinations with suitable users, that represent the user-groups of 3D-cinema, 3D-TV and 3D-game-content are to be carried out.
Finally the acceptance-tests are to be brought together, evaluated, interpreted and passed-on to the research-consortium in the form of a report.
The objective is to gain empirically secured and well founded insights about different aspects of the evaluation and acceptance with regard to the stereoscopic/multidimensional contents. These must then be taken into consideration concerning the acquisition and editing contents for the various distribution-channels.
