In terms of cinema projection technology Kinoton is currently market leader in Europe. Kinoton is already well established in the field of Digital Cinema. The company has been engaged in digital projection for many years, starting in 1998 with cooperating with Texas Instruments, Technicolor and Barco in an according technology project.
2002 Kinoton installed the a Digital Cinema system in a multiplex theatre in Budapest, the first D-Cinema installation in Eastern Europe. Kinoton’s DCP projectors for professional cinema projection are the only D-Cinema projectors developed and manufactured in Germany.
By now they are successfully used in cinemas in more than 25 countries, often in combination with one of the 3D Cinema systems available in the market. In addition to their DCP projectors, Kinoton also designs and manufactures premium accessory devices for digital projection such as scalers or special players for digital advertising.
