3D rigs
In addition to the Fraunhofer HHI Panorama Mirror Rig for multiple cameras and different side-by-side and mirror rigs for two cameras, a rig for 3D panorama productions is currently being generated at Fraunhofer IIS.
For this, up to 16 cameras (8 side-by-side stereo pairs, composed of micro2HDTV cameras are arranged in a circle. The cameras’ base distance can be motorically altered in the process. Fully occupied this rig can reproduce 360 degrees, using 4 camera pairs a panorama radius of 180 degrees can be stereoscopically covered.
All micro2HDTV cameras are accurately synchronized using genlock and parameterized over the port.
The recording occurs externally on the Megacine Field Recorder. For every camera pair, one megacine is necessary, which can record the uncompressed stereo signal.
